New Barrio Switch Line gets the thumbs up!
« on: 17/02/2013 at 00:20 »
Hi folks :z16

I'm very pleased with the final Barrio Switch Line prototypes and as always, it is exciting to reach the 'press the thumbs up button' stage and go ahead and order the stock.

It will take a few weeks to manufacture the initial stock obviously, but the new lines will be available as soon as possible.

Best wishes
Mike

hi Mike - excellent, thanks for that. In my own v limited experience, knowing the grain weight for the switch rod is much more useful than the line rating alone, so this is handy

Yes very much so Iain, we'll be putting the grain weights on the Switch page on the website, just like we do with the SLX :wink

Hmmmm...just checked with Batson, my rod is rated 140-280 grains! Low end number for overhead, high number for Skagit...so looks like your lines are way to heavy for my rod Mike :(

I use an Elixor just now and thats 275 grains.

6/7 at 380 grains / 24.62 grams

Hi Rob,

Forget what is written on the rod, try the line.  Do remember that the Elixir is considerably shoter than the Barrio therefore it will be lighter.

Hi Ben,
Its not on the rod, I got an e-mail from the manufacturer. Not sure I grasp what you mean regarding being shorter thus lighter...but I shall take your advice and try the line...Mike..ahve you got a demo at Haddo? Cheers

Haddo is closed for the Winter Rob :wink

We can meet up and try one when the stock arrives. What Ben has said makes sense.

Cheers
Mike
