Problem may be which particular Gamakatsu hook pattern you're looking for  :z8

A cursory search via google yielded plenty of UK suppliers for Gamakatsu hooks for fly tying............. :z17

maybe I need to refine my search then, I googles Gamakatsu hook, and only found carp/course. The above hook is the F22.

Have a word with Ben...Its Gamakatsus SC15 I use for the Pike and I get from Orvis.

Failing that Daiwa are importers for Gama fly hooks, might be worth trying them??

Terry Eustace (Gold Label Tackle) does a similar hook called the Penetrator 3..I have, but only in size 4..bit big me thinks.
http://www.specialist-tackle.co.uk/shop.php3?manid=36&subcatid=12 and scroll down

Owner also do similar, but again designed for the big fish angler.

I think you best bet is some of the carp hooks available.... http://www.specialist-tackle.co.uk/shop.php3?manid=9&subcatid=12&offset=10 scroll down to "Starpoints" I have some bigger ones you can have a look at...amazing hooks with a unique hook point.

Hi Cameron,

We're coming over to fish The Don in May. If you haven't found those Gamakatsu hooks by then, I could bring them along if you like?

Cammy

I cant find any where in the UK that sells the Gamakatsu C12U either.
Alternative hooks would be Tiemco 205 BL  and the Mustad 37160.
But i cant find dealers for them either, plenty in the States but not here  :roll

Sorry

Hi Cameron,

Rob is right, I can get although do not stock most of the Gamakatsu saltwater hooks.  Best place to look for them is the orvis.com (US) website, it has far more flytying kit than the UK site does.  99% of what is on there I can order in if required.

P.S, I cant find the tub I put the flies into after the flytying night hence I have not photographed them!!  I have a vague memory of giving them to Dave.

Cheers

Ben

Hi Cameron,

Stil interested in those hooks? My local flyshop didn't have 'em in stock, but the owner liked them, so he ordered them in size 10. Will have the hooks in a fortnight.
