Advice for moving from lochs to rivers

So have fly fished the past 10 years but always on hill lochs for brownies with the very occasional trip to a stalked fishery but have just been offered a few days fishing on a river close by for brownies.

Have read a few books/ watched some videos and it seems to be all about finding the right water and getting the drift right on the fly.

What would be your top tips for rivers?

Need to brush up on my casting first so I don't end up decorating all the overhanging trees with flies.😂😂
