A few recent ties

I have been a bit lapse in posting flies recently, but thought I'd share some of my recent ties.

Ben kindly sent me a patch of badger hair, which has been handy for tails on a couple of the flies

Those are lovely Robert 

All I have tied recently are some SHE's  I've been making them for years and never have the same success as the DHE. However with the recent hatches being SDO's with a sprinkling of other olives and some iron blues I revisited the SHE and this time explored removing as much of the under fibres as possible, like I'm doing with the DHE these days. They appeared a little sparse and less fluffy than before, but by gum do they float a whole lot better  they have been my daytime hatch goto in a 16 for the last couple of weeks

I love these Sandy and the tinsel butt is a nice touch...

I've played with these... I did the same and tried to take as much under-fur out.. I wonder if I got the thorax a little
Short but rather than cut or wrap over the butts I've taken a turn or two of dubbed thread to pop them up as I though the fibre was quite translucent and shuck-like...

Also I love the tail in the 2nd one Robert... innovative to put it in a spider like this vs the more traditional Irish mayfly or whatever...
