Loch Ba

What are peoples thoughts on the fishing at Loch Ba. It's reasonably close on my upcoming trip and I was wandering whether the 40 minutes hike off route is worth it? As were wild camping we wont be taking waders so would be mainly fishing from the banks.

Any advice on whether to make the trip over to it or not would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

I've only fished Loch Ba once, back in the summer of 1992. Back then, plenty of willing trout at about 3 to the pound. An old fishing chum from those days did better on Laidon, but I have never made it that far.

Is it worth it :?  There are many lochs in Scotland with fish of that size, and Ba very probably sees a lot of opportunistic anglers as it's so close to the A82. But if you do fish it, you can always tick it off the list and say you've done it  :z16

I haven't fished Ba but a friend and I have been up a few times and fished most of the others in the area. Always fished from the bank and as Hamish says 3 to the Lb, but with the occasional larger fish thrown in. I will be back up for a couple of days this summer and will be ticking Ba off then, not many places to fish with such great views!
