rod extensions

So while i was repairing the broken tip last night ( done on a trip to orkney a good few years ago) i got to thinking how great the handle config is on this rod and why other manufacturers don't copy it.

The rod came with two extensions, a small 'button' and the bendy handle

The design of the rod that allows you to fix the extension in place is amazing and locks every super tight.

You probably cant see inside the extension but to the photo blurring put there are two 'nodules' that slip into the slots then then whole things tightens up with the locking nut keeping everything in place. Wish more rod designers would follow the design...

Nice. I suppose the bend means the orientation of that extension vs the alignment of guides and reels is critical, whereas a button, fighting butt or standard grip can rotate on that axis without harm... as long as it doesn't work loose..
