Fly line for glass vs graphite rods

Does anyone have data or articles on which lines work better with glass rods compared to graphite rods?

Hi Marcus

Sandy has probably cast 100s of lines of 100s of glass rods so can probably give you excellent advice. I would have thought that its more dictated by the action of the glass blank you have rather than glass vs carbon.
I've got a few glass rods now - one of which is slower and 3 of which are more medium/fastish in action and are really 'punchy' - and can easily handle one line size up

so depends on the blank i'd say...

I think I'd struggle to write a useful article about which lines work better with glass rods compared to graphite rods Marcus.

I think the choices would always be very much down to personal preferences.

In my experience, in my hands, glass rods tend to be more versatile than graphite ones and perform well for me with a wider selection of lines. Finding the right weight that suits me for the set up is usually more important than tapers ( tapers being more about tactics/conditions ) but I have found that I don't like short/sharp/steep rear tapers on glass rods for some reason.

Hope that helps? I can't remember reading any articles about this, so I'm simply trying to help with a few thoughts.
