Thats mine finished, not really happy with them but i got pissed off and they will do. Tried to make them original and different from the SBS available.

DECEMBER

Ok guys as promised. you have 6 weeks for this one, the closing date will be the 31st of December

Something quite different.

The ALDER nymph.

These funny looking devils are found in abundance at Haddo, and the trout love em. They spend a lot of their time in and around the detrious on the bottom. When they decide to move they can swim in a laboured and erratic fashion, I reckon its why a slowly fished ice maiden is sometimes very effective especially around the margins . They vary in size from 20mm to almost 40mm.
They have exposed gills down their sides which are quite prominent and are creamy white with a tan to brown mottled back. When they are about to hatch they crawl/swim to the margins and  climb up a weed to pupate. Then they become the alder flies which we all familier with fluttering around in their clumsy fashion.
There are few patterns for this fly, but it is one which definatley forms a large part of the Haddo trout's diet. It will be great to see what you all come up with, perhaps we can produce a new fly or 3 which people will find a useful addition to their armoury
