A good week at Delgatie with most flies and methods taking fish, but the pace slowed when conditions were too bright and anglers had to change flies frequently to keep the fish’s attention.
Father and son team Hendry and Andrew Lockhart of Fraserburgh had a very good session in their float tubes taking bags of 18 and 15 on a home tied fly with fish of 7lb and 4.8lb their best while J Rennie used buzzers to temp 17 with a best fish of 5lb.
Whitehills angler R McKay bagged 13 to 5.8lb on a daddy longlegs and E Cable boated 13 on a nomad his best also at 5lb. L Stewart of Turriff landed 10 to 4lb on buzzers and bloodworm while R Gartshore had bags of 9 and 6 to 5.11lb on a floating fry. J Dewar, J Paterson, C Field all landed 8 using a daddy longlegs best at 4.8lb while R Wilson, J Kerr and A Davidson all landed 8 on various flies. D Brown banked 7 on various flies while M Cosgrove had a fish of 8.11lb in his bag of 7 taken on a c.d.c.
K Simpson, G Sutherland, G Burton, C Collie and F Murray all landed 6 on various flies with a fish of 7lb the best taken by F Murray.
