The Shore

I've enjoyed a few walks along the coast recently and took this photo in Cockenzie the other day, there's certainly lots to explore.

Does anybody actively fly fish from the shore?

What might you catch at different times of year?

John Wastle

Hi Mike, definitely worth exploring. There are seatrout around most of the year, with the spring being best. Mackeral come in close at dusk in the summer.

There are a few school bass turning up and the other usual sea species, usually quite small.

Thanks John, sounds like it could be fun  :z16

Having previously fished for mackerel on the west coast on a 4wt rod I can definitely say that it's good fun and addictive. I know folk fly for pollock in some areas but not actually tried myself yet.
