Hi Andrew, I cant speak for the FX1 directly but i do have  2 x FX2 rods, which are both excellent, all i can say is the few people   i know  who owned the FX1 rods went straight out and bought the FX2 rods when they came onto the Market as they were very impressed wit the previous model.

A version of my response about the FX1 10' #6 is below, in case anyone has the same query:

I've recommended these rods to a few people, the build quality is very good and the blank recovers quickly. It is quite a powerful rod and more tip action than you might think.
It is an excellent all rounder, capable of chucking really very meaningful flies on fast-sinking lines all the way up to small dries on lighter weight leaders.
It would be a super rod for Sea Trout and light Salmon fishing, if that's your bag.

Andrew - I have an FX1 10'#6 that is not used anymore. It's the best allrounder rod that I've ever used but my fishing habits have changed this last few years. I'm 87 and tend to use light switch and d/h rods these days, mainly from a boat. PM me with an offer if you are interested. I'll be at the BFFI on Saturday if you are going.
