The new trout season is only a few weeks away - coffee is brewing and the mind wanders down familiar streams.

As you get older your body can start to slow you down and complain, you become aware of this and it's not much fun.

But the simple enjoyment of walking the banks grows stronger every year, it's funny how things have a way of balancing out.

Been missing it so much this winter that last weekend took a flask for a wander up to my usual hill lochs just to remind myself where they were. Also gave me the push to pencil in a few long weekends throughout the year to head away and sample so other areas.
