Guy Bergman

Hi everyone just introducing myself and saying hello.

After enjoying reading the forum for a while from afar I thought I should get involved and share aswell.

I am a fly fisherman in my 30's mainly fishing for trout in the Aberdeenshire area as thats where im from, but now I live in Aberdeen.

I regularly fish the Don and also some smaller rivers and streams in the shire - small streams are one of my favourite places to fish.

As it's a new year one of my goals in 2025 is to be more social with my fishing, and maybe make some new fishing friends to have a cast with every now and then, so feel free to reach out.  :z18 :z18

I  would also like to do some grayling fishing if anyone is clued up about the nearest places to do that.

Hopefully see some of you on the bank.

Some fishy photos attached.

Thanks,

Guy

Nice Photos Guy  :z16

Welcome to the forum, if you are on the upper river at times, we may well bump into each other if we haven't already, as you do look familiar *smiley-tongue-out*
I have a fancy we have had a chat or two on Inverurie perhaps in seasons past.

As for Grayling , i think the Isla and the Ericht down at Blairgowrie/Coupar Angus is probably the closest, or you have the Tummel at Pitlochry. Either way for me these days its too much of a drive to go and freeze my nuts off for a few hours. I tend to work Grayling into my wee trips away in order to scratch that itch  *smiley-tongue-out*

See you out and about

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

Thank you, and thanks for the warm welcome also.  :z16

If I was catching some fish then it was me, otherwise it was obviously a dopelganger!  *smiley-funny*

I do fish upper Don but haven't actually fished Inverurie before I will need to check it out as it's right on the doorstep.

Thank you for the heads up on nearby grayling fishing. I was planning to go fish the Ericht for the first time this week but decided against it as I might have ended up ice fishing.

I will maybe report back on the forum once I have a chance to have a cast down there.

Cheers and see you out and about.

Guy
