Anglers from all over the world visit the North East of Scotland to fish for salmon on the rivers Spey, Dee, Don and Deveron, but not so much is known about the excellent trout fishing to be found in the Aberdeenshire area.

The River Don is a great salmon and sea trout river, but it also offers some first class brown trout fishing which you can explore in the "River Don" section of the website.

The "River Don" section includes some useful beat information, tactics and flies to help you to tempt one of these beautiful trout.

The rainbow trout fisheries in Aberdeenshire are some of the best in Scotland, offering quality, hard fighting fish in some beautiful locations.

You will find modern "well groomed" trout fisheries and others that are more natural and "wild at heart".

There are some great stillwaters to explore in "The Lochs" section of the website.

I am based at Haddo Trout Fishery, where you can enjoy some great fly fishing for rainbow trout, blue trout, arctic charr and brown trout from rowing boats and float tubes.

Haddo is a great place to relax, there is lots of wildlife, the kettle is always on for a cuppa and it would be grand to meet some of the website visitors, so please have a look at the Haddo Trout Fishery page.

Barrio Fly Lines were launched in early 2005, following extensive research and development at the fishery and on the River Don by both myself and a very enthusiastic team of local anglers who helped with ideas for the products and with the review of each individual prototype along the way.
