Bought on of these C&F tools last week, and finally got around to the superglue method of connecting leader and fly line. It is fiddly - getting the fine but not quite fine enough leader into the eye of the needle was challenging - but final outcome is very slick.
A wee 500ml collapsible water bottle, which I’ve tweaked with a flexible drinking tube of about 3feet long, sits in the top pocket of my vest back pack, lets me sip water while on the move; no fiddling into unreachable pockets. Kind of a gadget.
