Hi just joined and saying Hello.
Fly fished for a few years now from 2012. Tried it in the 1990s but got distracted with other types of fishing and work.

Now retired (age 66) and living in the Lune valley, I have the River Lune and the River Wenning very close by.  Also some lovely trout fishing in the Lake District .
I am mainly interested in trout fishing not salmon and I have dabbled a little in rod restoration after inheriting a couple of cane rods from a Scottish uncle. I received a fly rod and a cane spinning rod.
I did a full ring replacement on his old JS Sharpe Of Aberdeen Split Cane Fly rod “The Braemar”   9’ possibly  #5/6, it appears an old version as its  "not impregnated".
Hope to learn from this forum, fly fishing is a very large and in depth subject.

Cheers Alex
