fishing for browns in lochs with a sunray ?

we all know how wild browns love them stripped on river but has anyone tried loch fishing with them ?

I may try this year as they certainly work well in flowing water....

Two of my regular fishing partners have used them on reservoirs but they will not be replacing them.
Apparently they fly like a rocket but are fragile and not nice to handle.
I wanted to try one out for wafting (I will try anything) but still awaiting a reply regarding head wts and measurements.
Tested the new wafter with 6 different lines today - best line was a Barrio Smallstream #3. Had 5 nice rainbows too :z16

I'm confusing you Terry.  I was talking about the 'sunray shadow' salmon fly ( plastic tube and goat hair basically ) which is generally stripped back. Trout love em on rivers so it was something I was considering trying out in 2022 on the lochs

As you say there is also Sunray rods and lines .....I was being lazy missing out the shadow bit....

Ah! James - the sunray fly! I did wonder why a line that cannot be compared to Mikes was mentioned on here  :X1
