Hi, do you use any specific type of deer hair for these? I’ve been having issues with my DHEs sinking 😢

Hi Neil, I  use Roe deer for my DHE. Try to find a patch with the short tips.

Years ago I got a great patch from Lakland Flytying, but they don't seem to stock it anymore. You could contact Steve Cooper at Cookshill, let him know what you are looking for.

Less is more too, Neil.
Roberts fly is about perfect for density. Ironically if you use too much deer hair it actually makes it sink.
That came from Bob himself  *smiley-wink* after asking him the same question, just something else to consider.
I've always found that Coastal deer hair is pretty good for these too and i know Sportfish has Roe deer in stock :z16
