Hi Steve ...... Welcome to the forum  :z16

Nice rods, I sold one a few years ago, see https://www.fishingthefly.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8193.0. Folks are likely to want to know which model it is, there are letters to describe the action, like "XXD" etc, and these are usually printed just above the handle.

The XXD actioned model is very rare and sought after, but I guess the others might also have some sort of rarity value nowadays.

The build and colour schemes are perhaps a bit 'marmite', you either like them or you don't  *smiley-grin*

I'd guess around £100-£200 for an XXD, and £50-£100 for other models  :z8 and the 4 pce rods were more than the 3 pce ones.

Cheers
Mike

Hi Mike, thank you so much  for taking the time to reply and you help,as you can probably tell,I am pretty useless with technology !.I have looked at the rod and this is what I found.above the handle is vg or va -10-90-. 10' Brentwood England.also 10/40 gm or 10/40 9 m.every spigot is  numbered.lastly the aluminium butt cap has made by Greys of Alnwick.Alnwick England.I do hope this info can help.I just really want it to go to an enthusiast who can appreciate it.they will have to make me an offer for it.I have no idea of it,s value.kind regards.Steve.

Hi Steve

Mike Marshall is the president of the BFCC ( British Fly Casting Club ) and you should be able to contact him via their website? https://www.thebfcc.co.uk/

Mike built the rod, and is the best person to give you any advice about specific models.

Found it: See https://www.thebfcc.co.uk/contacts for his email address.

Best wishes
Mike
