Right handed fly reel
« on: 24/07/2020 at 14:21 »
Hi guys,
Thanks for letting me join the group.
I’m looking for some advice on fly reels. In particular what do I need to do when buying a new reel considering that I am going to be casting with my left hand and wand to be able to get a reel setup for right handed.

Hi Sandy
Welcome to the forum
Regarding fly reels - most can be simply changed for right or left hand wind and there are only one or two examples which are fixed.
The method of changing varies depending on the reel manufacturer which you choose but if in doubt query the seller and if purchasing a new reel the supplier will either supply it already set up to your requirements i.e. either right or left hand. or you can ask them to show you what to do.
