Sandy, looking good. Once all the travel restrictions are over and I head to Louisiana to the Lafayette office I aim to get a bend or two in the rod with some redfish.

Fast glass is much more robust than graphite for messing around in the back country. Thanks as always for an excellent build. I guess I will just have to content myself with a few practice casts in the garden for now.

Jim, that could be an FA  cup song.

You need to be a certain age to remember the Chelsea squad singing (badly) to those words.

Sandy,

The 888 arrived today. Took a couple of pics with the Sds bonefish reel and had a few casts on the grass. Looks ace and casts great, thanks again for an excellent build. Once lockdown is out of the way I hope to put a bend or two in the rod.

I got asked to build the Amber 580 for a customer.
He went for a classic Style build with red wraps, and agate with a nice spalted maple seat.

I now have my last remaining blank, a Livingston 7í 3wt in Black Sglass in production. Have gone for a Celtic style etched reel seat. So will be quite different again. However it will be completed by next weekend, so I hope they let us go fishing soon. Iíve run out of things to make until my new range of blanks arrive at the end of June.

What does the 'Celtic' style reel seat look like Sandy?

Itís vaguely Celtic. Itís also one I got as a one off, which I can get again if I wanted.

Nice cork too in a simple tapered grip.

Here there the silk wetted to match the wood. You can see the etching better too

So a wee bit different, but rather smart I thought
