My first foray into the world of landies after always going Japanese for my 4x4s.  I must admit its really growing on me and the seats are ace!

I did have to laugh about the fact that I had to change a blown brake light before the deal was even done 😂

I have a Dacia duster. Came with a touring pack so has a tow bar, side steps and a roof rack. 4x4 is a bonus. Plenty room. Not the most attractive car but cheap and cheerful and never once let me down!

Not driven a Duster, but Munro at Tinto Fishery gave us a lift in his a couple of years back and we were quite impressed .... I remember thinking it would be a practical fishing wagon

Stephen - that style of  Disco imho is so much better that the two that followed. I had one of the first ones made from new - just 2 doors and mountain graphics on the sides.  The two later models seem to lack the 'soul' of the original. I also had a mk3 - lovely car but it lacked that 'something'. The latest one is so bland and uninspired. The mk 1 that I had did 135k without a problem. The only problem was that it was slooooooooow. I did a lot of driving in Germany on unrestricted autobahns and narrowly escaped being rammed from behind on a daily basis.
Classic fishing wagon - enjoy it.

Now THAT is a nice Landy! Mine is a B plate V8 and I cannot afford to drive it lol!!!

Rob, that’s a 2 1/4 petrol and I bet it is as bad or worse than the V8 on fuel. I took it to Durness once and it cost a fortune

I'm also quite sure that journey was the primary source of my lower back pain...

Although the cheer from the pair of us when she managed an overtake made the extortionate fuel costs worth it 😂
