Single leg guide styles?
« on: 26/11/2019 at 13:50 »
Hi to all! Me again sorry! soon to be starting another build 9ft 6# tainiwha nano carbon blank!
Just wondering if anybody has used the funny oval shaped single leg seymo fly guides? I’m a bit dubious about the v shape they create at the foot part of the oval could it create excess friction and slow line speed/ travel through the guide??
Any thoughts/ comments appreciated!
Regards Jamie

Are you talking about the Seymo 619SL guide?

I have used it a lot and never felt it caused an issue. That's including with shooting heads which of course, have a loop/knot and very thin running line.

Hi Rob thanks for the reply! Yeah that’s the guides I was on about!
I have gone ahead and whipped them on! They are a bit of a funny shape I must admit!
I will put plenty of epoxy around the neck of the guides so I can’t see it causing any issues! They were a bit of a fiddle to grind and whip on!😂
Thanks again !

Try grinding and whipping on titanium recoil guides ;)
