well, my new rod arrived just in time for me to go out for a cast this afternoon.

Before I go out I thought I would share my initial thoughts.

As you can see it comes in a nice red and black tube

the blank is a lovely matt, in a sort of greenish/grey

there are no 'rod alignment' dots which would have been a nice touch as im sure they dont cost anything to add.

Handle is 'cigar shaped' and feels nice in the hand and as you can see from the reel seat the rod is made by guideline.

whippings are very well done. Overall asthetically very nice.

I'll let you know who it casts later as im out on the float tube later. I'll be trying it with barrio SLX's ( floating and intermediate)

just back after a few hours on the water.

My verdict ? What a lovely rod.

Shoots line VERY easily on short to medium casts, turning the flies over really really well.

Lovely and light in the hand - a bargain at the price.

Would i but another one ?
-oh yes
