Good quality CDC for dry fly wings

I’ve been tying  a few dries of late but am a little disappointed at the quality of CDC I can find; all I’m looking for is fairly dense short to medium feathers for wings on simple flies such as emergers / F fly size 12-18. The expert tiers on Youtube put two CDC feathers together for a nice bushy wing - all I get is a wispy bit of fluff! Any advice about a source for some decent feathers would be welcome.

Lucians CDC is good quality, or you could try David Jedlicka at DJ fly fishing on Facebook, his CDC is the best I’ve used - outstanding quality. Email david.jedlicka@gmail.com 👍

I use Lucians natural CDC as well , his 1 gram bags have less ‘fluff’ and more feathers than most.
The Campbell stuff is good too, but it depends how much you use and I go through a lot of it.
I also really like the Marc Petitjean CDC but it’s very expensive.

I tend to go for a medium bag of Cookshill cdc. Plenty of usable feathers, I use 5-6 per size 14 shuttlecock or f-fly though, then brush the feathers through with muciiin oil and let them stand for a couple of days. The fly sheds water superbly for ages.. :z16

It's good stuff Kerry. I thought cdc should never be treated until I bumped into a pro fly tyer who gave me the tip last year. I even coat it on my hackled dries too now. He said get this one that comes with a handy lid brush... :z16

Sorry, I meant to say mucilin oil, not muslin..... :X2
