I'm just returning to fly fishing for river trout after a long break and everything's changed! I'm equipped with a variety of rods and reels that will cover most eventualities so I need advice on fly lines - does a DT5F still exist - and particularly leaders and tippets?  I fish upstream dry fly and nymph or downstream wet according to conditions. Baffled by fluorocarbons and braided leaders pros and cons. Help?

My tuppence worth:

2. Think of Fluorocarbon and Copolymer tippet material as thinner more expensive nylon, the principles of tapered leader cosntruction haven't changed - but be careful with the knots 
3. I don't use braided leaders, although I see the advantage of the 'indicator' type for nymphing.
