Fly tying kit bag - suggestions?
« on: 16/01/2019 at 20:32 »
So I'm possibly in the market for a fly tying kit bag of some kind.

Partly this is so I can hide some of my newer more shiny acquisitions from SWMBO, but mainly so that I have a portable kit suitably packed for the occasional trip where topping up flies would be handy.
More likely for use when the weather is too sh1t to even consider fishing.....

So I'm after recommendations. I'd like to have got my hands on an Orvis Safe Passage fly tier's kit bag, but they're discontinued  and no-one in the UK appears to have stock  :z10
Are there better or good alternatives :?

Interested to know and happy to consider left field options :z16

H, I have a couple of the Orvis safe passage fly tying jobbies, I am sure I can part with one. You would have to wait until Steven is on his next leave from Brunei before I can get one back to Blighty for you. Let me know what you think.

I may know of a Pelicase or two going spare as well. No dividers or foam but very portable and strong.
Let me see about what is available.

There is weather that you dont go fishing in ?

You're starting to sound like that moaner who did a write-up on trying to fish the FreeBurn beat when  using a 'girls line' and thus failing to catch anything  :X2

Just use an old laptop bag and some heavy duty zip top document bags  :wink

Couple of irons in the fire, whilst I do like the idea of a 'proper bag' a development of something else seems super likely  :z16
