One as old in the tooth as my self has learned the hard way not to trust any thing the goverment tells me will help me?
About two seasons ago our syndicates T.D.S.F.B. levy was increased by approx. fifty percent. When i wrote in to complain about this i was informed that this was a result of a revaluation carried out by the district assessor, end of story.  When one conisders how one has to pay the levy on fish returned and yet others get the use of the river [canoes etc] free, one starts to feel a bit of a mug.
The only good thing i can see in it would be to give angling bodies lobbying the goverment an idea of the amount of anglers there are in this country. Now that fox hunting as it was has gone could fishing be next?
