the old Loch Maree dapping rods were whole cane with a Built cane tip,about 16ft, then the got the Greys 15ft rods a bit of a difference, But a lot of people brought their own , usually telescopic for ease of carrying,I didn't see a lot of problems with them, Derek Roxborough

Thanks Hamish, I defer to your more up to date knowledge on telescopic rods. I always thought the Bolognese might not be beeefy enough. I shall have another look at them. It might be a solution when I travel by train to avoid poking peoples' eyes out..
