The local reservoir is fishing extremely well and the best bags are to small flies.
Nothing new about that but what my fishing buddy caught last week was astonishing.
Fishing a size 14 Dowl Bach nymph on a dropper he landed a pike well in excess of 15lb.
The fish was fairly hooked and took 25 min to land on 5lb leader.
He could not net it so I had to assist with my bigger net.
Cold day and never stopped raining but we had a dozen each using size 14 nymphs.
