Propeller fly - legal?
« on: 17/04/2017 at 09:37 »
A pall tied some pike flies fitted with tiny metal propellers.  He went piking before the trout season opened and caught no pike, but LOTS of rainbow trout.  Are these legal on fly only waters? ... not that I'm inclined to try them.

Hi Terry :z16

These are usually banned on most trout waters, not for their fish taking abilities, but because of the harm they can do to a fish when an angler is broken off :wink

Best wishes

you mean things like these ?

i bought a kit year back and you can put either spinner blades in front of your tubes, or a propeller

the ones that they do are very light weight so you could cast on a #7 ( if you are allowed  :z7)
