Lochter Report - Still Waiting for Spring...
« on: 27/02/2017 at 10:45 »

We have had a few false dawns to the arrival of Spring and storm Ewan is scheduled to put us back to square one this week with wintry weather forecast in his wake.

Water temperatures at Lochter Fishery in Oldmeldrum have stayed stubbornly low with no significant hatches of flies to stir up the fish.

In spite of this persistent anglers have been well rewarded for their efforts.

Graeme Duthie started the week well with ten using various mini lures.

The Wood family had fourteen between them on WSW’s while Keith Fraser netted nine using that well-known fly the ‘various’.

Top scorer this week was Doug Mair who had a great day, he kept varying his fly choice from nymphs to buzzers to dwial bachs and caught and released eighteen nice trout. A.Taylor tempted ten fish, Steve Argo eight and S.Williams nine using mini lures, cats and WSW’s.

The weather forecast for this week is mixed to say the least but if anglers pick their moments they should do OK!
