Small Stream or Mallard....?
« on: 10/01/2017 at 13:13 »

i just bought a Cortland 10' 4wt to try nymphing

which model line would you suggest for my local small river...Small Stream or Mallard....?
this is typical

also may use a Herbert Hatton split cane 7'7'' for overgrown locations
needs casting,  but 'appears' to be a 4/5wt

thanks...john

Mike - is a SS better than a Mallard for Czech nymphing? Something I have not done before.
Cheers Terry

Fly line isn't really needed for Czech nymphing. Have a look through YouTube and this will make sense.

Ah, yes. Twiddle and plop   :z4
I'll experiment on the river Dove in March or even earlier for Grayling.  I'll start with the nearest combo I have = 10' #5 rod and Mallard #5F or even #6F

Thanks again guys.
