Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The beginning of the past week was plagued by inclement weather conditions which affected the fishing with heavy rainfall and northerly winds. However from mid week these conditions eased and despite the water being discoloured good catches were recorded from Thursday onward. The main catching medium this week has been buzzers and lures with no clear definition of obvious preferences. The best recorded catches this week fell to; P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 17 fish, (black lure, buzzers, orange blob), N Thomson, Turriff, 13 fish, (buzzers), K Fraser, Greeness, 12 fish, (buzzers), C Kelly, Turriff, 11 fish, (various lures), J Mackay, Macduff, 9 fish,(white fritz), J Walker, Banff, 9 fish, (cat's whisker), G Ellington, Ellon, 7 fish, (yellow buzzer), L Gibson, Lanark, 5 fish, (diawl bach, WSW).

K Fraser, Greeness included a 14lb specimen amongst his 12 fish.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am and visitors are always welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. Weather conditions appear more settled for the coming week but up to date information and conditions can be obtained from Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
