The Rod Makers Story
« on: 08/11/2016 at 12:49 »
A wee documentary by Alex Rimmer about Gary Marshall at Fine Cane Rods

This short documentary was based on a brief that I decided to do from University.
I love fishing and I also love split cane rods, so I searched on the internet for a rod maker close to my university.
This is how I came across Gary.
This is the first time I have ever filmed a documentary so I guess it was a learning process from day one.
I hope I have done this awesome process justice.
Please go and check Gary's website out, he is always around to answer questions and queries.

Cracking video, but amazed to see he dips the entire rod, guides and all!

I was also amazed the whole rod section was dipped including guides. Built a ton of rods but never cane from scratch, just from blanks, Great video and great story, a man who found his passion and got out the day to day trudge of "work"

Love this site
