Hooks arrived, Box finished. Perfect antidote to the Young mans coloured rocks that he chucks at the fish :z12

7 basic patterns

CDC Plume tip, 12-16
Harrops CDC Emerger/cripple, 14-16
Spent Spinner 14-16
APT 16-18
DHE/SHE 12-16
Vasies style Sedge 10-16
CDC Spider 14

A couple of colours,  dark and light, in some patterns , one or two additions like egg sacs on spinners, and a selection of sizes and thats the culmination of the last 4 years of playing with hooks and patterns, these are the ones that work for me. :z16

Oh yes and just to keep the rock chuckers happy there is about a dozen Bead head PT's in a small plastic bag that will find its way into my Pack. Just in case..... :X2

Other than that.... Bring it on :z16

I was thinking about this while i filled the box, but i don't use many materials these days. I tied the whole fly box with the following.

Grey Squirrel fur
Muskrat fur
Andrews Scruffy Buzzer dubbing
Andrews Golden olive dubbing
Andrews Cinnamon dubbing
Gold wire
Mirage pearl tinsel
Peacock herl
Black Ice Dub
Grizzle hackles
Dun Comparadun hair
Natural Cow elk hair
Lt Grey dun Snowshoe hare
Light Dun floating fibre
Natural Goose CDC
Natural khaki CDC
Medium Dun CDC plume tips
Natural white CDC Plume tips
Gallo De Leon Pardo Corzuno Rojizo
Gallo De Leon Indio Acerado
Gallo De Leon Indio Cristal
Lt Cahill UniThread
Rust UniThread
Lt Dun Bennechi Thread
Olive Dun UniThread
Fulling Mill 35050 hooks
Daichi D900 hooks
Add some tungsten beads and a pheasant tail and that completes the nymphs as well.
It takes up less than a 1/4 of one drawer in my desk. Really makes me wonder why i have all the rest :z8

Sandy,

I like the limited selection.  What's the "APT"?  I assume it is a type of pheasant tail nymph.

Cheers,
Bryan

You cheeky bugger Sandy!  :z4 :z7

Rocks catch fish. You know it makes sense!

Bloody nice box of floaty things there. I hope to have something similar spread across a few slimline boxes.

That's both the nymph boxes now complete. I'm still debating whether or not to fill the bottom two rows.

My all time favourite and most productive nymph! In my opinion the only nymph you really need in your box.

140 (1) of the little beauties:

It's now well and truly dry fly time. I see the feathers are now live as well Mike, ace! Order on its way once I've figured out what ones I need.

Thanks Mike!  :z16

So I see and I've just read through it all. I never realised there were so many different types, some interesting reading as well.

I know which two I need, one for the tails on my Duns and one for the Spinner.  Order on its way to you.
