Just found this archive film.

Starts off talking about casting etc (how things have changed) and then the complete manufacture of a cane rod from the bamboo in its dried state to the finished article.

Well worth watching

Pure class. Ah! Those where the days. Cane rods are great, everyone should have a couple of days on the water with one. All my rods are cane. Thanks for posting that gem

I still use a cane carp rod...stunning action and casts a bit of bread crust a mile :)
