Lochter Report - All Set for Action!
« on: 02/08/2016 at 19:45 »

From Friday of this week when we will have the Razamataz of the opening ceremony we will have a fortnight of Olympic Action.
Men & Women of all shapes and sizes running, jumping, lifting, throwing, rowing, dodging, weaving, punching etc etc.
Meanwhile the rest of us will be viewing, booing, cheering, ooing and ahing . There will be a multitude of sports on show, but there will be no Olympic Angling.
Fishers will have to get out and about in the fresh air and enjoy their sport for real .

There have been plenty of anglers out and about at Lochter Fishery Oldmeldrum enjoying what has been a week of mixed weather.
On Monday Macaulay Tuck had a 6 hour session which resulted in 18 fish including one of 6lb , all on sedges. Lenny Davidson & Ronnie Ewan had 9 and 8 respectively using
a mix of nymphs and cormorrants on the same day. D McLauchlan had a dozen using the popular and effective yellow dancer. July is often considered to be the toughest time to catch
fish but by ringing the changes most anglers managed to keep trout coming to the net.

Team Tracy comprising H Tracy, D Tracy, A Tracy and Miss A Tracy scored well with thirty eight between them . Several anglers went home to enjoy the fruits of their labour with a couple of nice fish for the Barbecue, no doubt washed down with a glass or two of Pinot Grigio or similar , Unbeatable !
