« on: 11/07/2016 at 12:50 »
In spite of the numerous sporting counter attractions, tens at Wimbledon, The British Grand Prix from Silverstone, televised horse racing from York and Newmarket, the closing stages of the European Football Competition and the Echt Show.

In spite of all these, there were plenty of anglers dragging themselves away from the telly to cast a line at Lochter Fishery in Oldmeldrum.

What a fine time most had with the changeable weather keeping the trout active and feeding.

Liam Stephen using his stalking technique targeting individual fish using his tiny size 18 oz 20 stalking bugs.

Regular visitor from Shetland, David Pottinger had a great day using his own potty’s cat to tempt twenty three nice fish.

Nathan Henderson caught and released a dozen using nymphs and a fab, while James McLean used his favourite bunny leech to grass seventeen.

Ron Sinclair used a mix of dries and traditional wets to land nine while B. Maybury found that eleven fish liked his choice of buzzers and damsels.

There have been plenty of fish showing on the surface in the evening when dries have been producing plenty of exciting action for anglers.
