Hi folks

Has anybody else read "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen"? I bought it at the airport to read while on holiday.

What did you make of it?

Read it a few weeks ago. Far fetched but quite comical. Worth a read.

Hi Mike ,

Funnily enough did exactly the same as you , only last year ! I thought it was quite well written , especially the science bits !!! Nah , only kidding , bit far fetched , the tranfer of all those fish to the Yemen
BY AIR !! Yeah Right .  The rest was entertaining enough as a wee holiday read but I was very disappointed by the ending .

Hi folks

Yes, far fetched and obviously not to be taken seriously, but I found it quite entertaining to read and enjoyed the bit where "Colin the Ghillie" saved the day by casting his fly at the attacker

Yes, I enjoyed it ............ but the end was rubbish, almost as if the author had run out of ideas and wanted to get it finished, which spoilt the whole book

Don't rush out and buy it

Never read it , it got a not bad review in T & S the other month. I'm sure I'll get round to reading it as there are not that many new fishing books being written.
