Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The past week has seen a drop in temperature and a persistent breeze which in the latter part of the week came from a Northerly direction. Despite the conditions being incompatible for anglers, the fishing remained good and surprisingly the fish continued to operate at or near the surface and on several occasions succumbed to a dry fly and hopper presentation. However, several of the better catches still came from deeper water when presented with a lure. The best catches recorded catches this week were; A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 33 fish, (blobs, black buzzers), A Murray, Gardenstown, 29 fish, (white fritz, nomad), N Thomson, Turriff, 16 fish, (buzzers), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 16 fish, (WSW, blob), I Burnett, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (white fritz), D Apedaile, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (hare's ear, pheasant tail nymph), M Cormiw, Forfar, 6 fish, (buzzers).
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 5pm with evening fishing being introduced from 2nd May when closing time will be extended to 9pm if light permits.
