Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The past week started with ideal fishing conditions when, from Sunday through to Thursday some notable catches were recorded whilst on Friday and Saturday the weather turned with temperatures dropping and a bitterly cold Northerly wind prevailing. This led to a dramatic drop in angler and fish activity. However today, Sunday, sees temperatures rising and the wind easing and the forecast for the coming week suggests a continuation of this trend, hopefully leading to a settled week with more seasonal conditions. The best recorded catches this week were; A Murray, Gardenstown, 32 fish, (green/white fritz), P Keir, Fyvie, 25 fish, (montana), N Thomson, Turriff, 19 fish, (buzzers), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 18 fish, (black buzzers), F Mitchell, Aberdeen, 12 fish, (buzzers), B Cresswell, Macduff, 11 fish, (black buzzer), D Apedaile, Fraserburgh, 11 fish, (hare's ear nymph), J Dewar, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (WSW, buzzer), C Mutch, Ellon, 8 fish, (buzzers).
