Lochter Report - All Set for the Springles at Lochter
« on: April 12, 2016, 13:01:28 PM »

It might be optimistic in light of the recent weather to call it the Spring Singles Competition but at least the fish donít seem to mind the (for humans) disappointingly low temperatures.

Anglers at Lochter fishery in Oldmeldrum, suitably layered up, have had some cracking sport over the past week.

On Monday Andy Barrowman had a splendid session with fourteen on fabs and buzzers.

The same day Brian Ross had nine on buzzers, Robert Still eight and Graham Duthie nine again on buzzers and small nymphs.

Keeping up the standard, Peter Young had thirteen, Neil Smith nine, George Abel eleven, Fred Mitchell seven and Bill Buchan eleven all to gently retrieved buzzers and dwial backs.

Sport continued briskly though the week and on Friday Ronnie Ewen had a dozen on nymphs and cormorants and Martin Crawford fifteen on buzzers and bloodworms.

The miserable weather slowed things down a bit on Saturday but Bob Thomson chipped in with eleven, three of which he kept for his tea. Alan Barker had nine and the blubby boys Doug Mair and Bill Ferries twenty four between them.

The week finished with a flourish as Bill Gibb went trootin aboot and landed sixteen, while James McClean topped the league with twenty three to his special nymphs.

Finally to confirm the Spring Singles will cast off at 9.30am on Sunday 24th April, entries to the fishery on 01651 872787 or 872000
