Could any one please suggest a good rainbow fishery for this time of year.  Been looking over the site but thought people with personal experience is the best hope.  Looking for somewhere not too crowded where the fishing is not simple.  Only wanting half a days fishing catch and release.  I  need a break from the normal as the rivers are too low.  Looking for one more outing before I pack the rods away for winter.

Haddo would be my first choice if I were you, Braehead is a challenging fishery and guaranteed to to be crowded, a bit further from Kintore though.

I'd go to Haddo too

perhaps Midmar would be worth a look too, not bad from Kintore.

Fished Midmar myself recently - not a bad day at all  But..... Haddo will remain my favourite, even if it takes me ages to get there

I have one further question.  I have been to Ythan Valley Fishery a couple of times a good few years back.  I knew it was closed for a good while but haven't heard anything since.  Has it reopened and if so is it any good?

My favourite rainbow venue is Loch Buidhe in terms of challenging but its a tad far away from Kintore.  Locally i would plump for midmar.  I havent tried Haddo yet but seems to be popular

Best and most friendly in the area/country Haddo IMHO
