Just ordered a copy of The North Country Fly, Yorkshire's Soft Hackle Tradition by Robert L. Smith.

There are mountains of great fly fishing stuff online ...... but I do enjoy a good book

I picked up a copy of  the Colonial Angler by Ken Reinard, a very interesting book on 17th&18th century fly fishing and fly tying in early colonial America , plus an article on making your own hooks, £1.25 at the local library , it was worth a punt,( no not the Irish one),some interesting takes on fly tying, easgach 1
