Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

At last!! A whole week where weather conditions have remained settled albeit with temperatures lower than we would expect for this time of the year. The winds have also moderated and conditions for fishing were much more favourable. All we need now is for this vein to continue so that the fish can settle into a feeding pattern and yield more consistent returns. Again, this week lures were predominant at the beginning of the week but as the settled weather continued the fish rose higher in the water column and buzzers and nymphs proved productive with the dry fly still attracting activity. The best recorded catches this week were; P Keir, Fyvie, 20 fish, (WSW, Kate McLaren), D Mackay, Inverness, 20 fish, (black buzzer), K Fraser, Greeness, 16 fish, (buzzer, minkie, orange blob), A Murray, Gardenstown, 16 fish, (green fritz, black nomad), A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 15 fish, (orange blob), J West, Peterhead, 8 fish, (WSW), W Sinclair, Fife, 7 fish, (cat's whisker), D Apedaile, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (red fritz).
