Macrostigma/Mediterranean trout
« on: 06/08/2015 at 13:07 »

maybe it's just a way to spend time while hiding away from the current heat wave, or simply to share a not-so-well known type of trout, or maybe to show that the butter-bellies aren't the only trout to be so beautiful...   :wink

they don't grow big but what's truly amazing about this class of trout is how varied their appearance can and does change. these are from the french island of Corsica.

Beautiful indeed and each with a blue spot or 2 on the Gill plate!

Crazy spot markings on all of them. Nice looking trout!

well 'spotted' guys  :z4
the gill spot of the Macrostigma seems to be the most pronounced and regular among all the different trout.
