Hi folks

Dry flies, CDCs, hoppers, spiders and buzzers have continued to produce some great sport at Haddo this week, but damsels, cats and fritz in various colours have proved popular choices too.

Colin McKay tempted 20 fish up to 11 lb for his session, while boat partner Ronald McKay netted 9 up to 10½ lb. John McKenzie enjoyed a good session with 23 fish up to 5 lb, Sandy Taylor caught 18 up to 4 lb, James Donn 6 up to 10 lb, John Johnston 14 up to 12 lb, Fred McAlley 16 up to 8 lb, Kev Danby 16 up to 6 lb, Alex Burnett 11 up to 13 lb ( Alex dropped a larger fish too that found the end of his backing ) and Colin Hudson netted 10 fish up to 12 lb.

Atholl Murray tempted a nice trout of approx 10 lb, Stuart Wood one of 13 lb and Max Grant another good fish at around 15 lb.

Julian Narro, Alberto Indurain and Aurelio Munoz ( "Los Tres Amigos" from Pamplona and Ibiza ) were visiting the Don for a few days, but conditions on the river turned high and brown ..... so they tried their luck on a Haddo boat for the afternoon and sharing two rods, they netted about 12 good fish up to 10 lb on dry flies and quite a few wee tigers and browns.

Boat availability is reasonably good at the moment, but please note that the following days are currently fully booked this month: Tuesday Oct 2nd, Friday Oct 5th, Sunday Oct 7th, Friday Oct 12th, Sunday October 14th from 1.30pm onwards ( spaces available in the morning ) and Saturday October 27th.

Best wishes
Mike Barrio
