Afternoon all, anyone recommend a decent wading jacket that wont break the bank?

I had a Baleno Jacket it looks and fits nice but after a few outings both arms leak like a sieve.  Few outing means not much fishing in the last two years.

Hmm depends on the missus its nearly birthday time. I would say up to £200 but may go higher. I have orvis sonic waders and they are excellent so that could be a deciding factor. The baleno jacket was an impulse buy which perhaps needed more thought (wedding reception, beer, tackle shop nearby, wallet burning hole in pocket).

There's a lot of very nice wading jackets out there and for not too much north of £200 jackets like the Orvis Sonic Tailwaters jacket and the Guideline Experience become "affordable". I don't like the colour of the Orvis Clearwater jacket which is a shame as, actually, it's quite well put together/thought out. I have an older Orvis Pro-Guide wading jacket that sees a lot of use (abuse) and it's still 100% waterproof with no real signs of wear.
I've been impressed by some of the Vision gear and Kura or the Sade wading jackets are worth a look too - just that wee bit different from the norm and I like that.
Whatever jacket you get make sure at least one pocket is utterly waterproof

No Lochy this year but managed a couple of thornbacks from the loch on sea gear. The wee loon like his sea fishing, Footie, Cubs and now looks like cricket. No time for me time

I'm probably (definitely!  ) a sucker for  Scierra gear. I've had the CC3 waders for 5 seasons & the original Aquatec wading jacket for 8, maybe 9 & it's still fully waterproof. Their clothing stuff is practically bomb-proof. At the moment, the Kenai jackets are up for grabs for around £90 with some retailers, so wouldn't put a serious dent in your budget.

I bought a nice Vision jacket last year and I have fallen in love with it.  Tough shell with good pockets. Been through thorns with no issue at all

I think the new version is the Vision Kura at about £160 for a 3 layer Goretex and waterproof zips although John Norris has it for £134.

If I was buying again, the Vision Sade would be at the top of the list.

I finally got out on Saturday in my new wading jacket. Happy to report the Vision Sade jacket was excellent. It kept me dry and was very comfortable, the pockets have plenty of room to fit all the gear I needed to take.

If the jacket could prevent me dropping stuff in the river then that would be a Carlsberg moment.

My only comment would be it is a shame you cant roll up the hood when it isn't raining but that was not a problem on Saturday.

Overall very pleased and the added bonus I even managed a 10lb tourist so perseverance in the dire weather paid off.
