hi mike

won't make saturday's float tube day after all. picking up a new (old) car.
sorry about that.

changing tack -- we chatted last week about float tubers using canoeing jackets (cags?) and/or life preservers for dryness and safety.

Had a quick look in town over the weekend; only saw life vests with no or few pockets, and they were not all-in-one, jacket with built in life preserver types.

A couple of the cags had built in neoprene type sleeves, *maybe* suitable for keeping water out when dipping a sleeve into the water when releasing a fish from the tube. Other cags had velcro type fastenings, and didn't look too waterproof.  They also tend to be bright blue or yellow, hardly discreet camouflage style!

any float tubers out there got a good recommendation for a jacket with sleeves that don't allow water in? I'm scunnered with float tubing with wet wrists

cheers
iain

Hadn't clicked that there was a Scotland game on in the afternoon :z7

Would you prefer to make it a 9.30 to about 1.30 gathering folks? :?

Best wishes
Mike

"Kipps & Co" are coming and I think we'll just let everybody decide how long they want to fish on the day

And if it is quieter than usual ........... I get to fish :wink

Cheers

Hi folks

That was a great day :wink

Nice to see Noel enjoying his "maiden voyage" :z16

The trout were "reasonably willing" too, Dave tempted 21 up to approx 11 lb, Damien 21 up to 12 lb, Peter 16 up to 5 lb from the pontoon boat, Kipps 9 up to 7 lb, Noel 4 up to 4 lb, Henry 8 up to 7 lb for the morning and Sandy netted 4 over a couple of hours, including a "good tow" of approx 10 lb and another of approx 12 lb

Best wishes
